The first IR&WS on record with the C.K.C. in both Miscellaneous Class and for full recognition was Hawklawn Silver Sixpence (Festie), imported to Canada in 1992 by Gail and Leslie Harrison (Caniscaeli) from Nottinghamshire, England. Breeders Sandra and Jim Williamson.
   

These are some of the other IR&WS's of the early days before full recognition of the breed in 1999.

1) Pat Ua Siaghail and "Bran" (Ch. Caniscaeli Two Is Bran Dil) with one of Bran's B.I.S. Rare Breeds. Bran was second-born in Canada's first litter (Meudon Classic X Hawklawn Silver Sixpence).
2) Lynda Steinacker and another multiple B.I.S and B.P.I.S Rare Breeds, Tanner (Caniscaeli Shades Of Green) at OVASA. This All Setter club was kind to invite the IR&WS to     
 compete as a Miscellaneous Class breed at their annual specialty.  
3) Diane Martineau was an early owner and breeder. Here she is with her Fezzane (Ch. Caniscaeli Fezzane Dore), Maeve (Caniscaeli Bua Tail, CD), and Forex. Forex was BISS Ch. Shannonlee Whiskey Jack, CDX, FDX, CGC.  
4, 5, and 6) Gail Harrison and Festie (Hawklawn Silver Sixpence) the first time the breed was shown in Canada, Dec. 1992 in a Rare Breeds show at the Sky Dome in Toronto.         
7) Diane Martineau moving Forex at OVASA in the mid 90's.                                                                                 
8) Another early import, Liam (Shannonlee Fire Finch) at an event in Toronto, with one of the boards we took to events to advertise the breed.
9) Matt (Meudon Classic), sire of Canada's first IR&WS litter. Matt was born in Ireland and lived in the U.S.A.

11) Rowan (Caniscaeli's first Annquest ) was the first puppy born and registered in Canada's C.K.C., firstborn of the Meudon Classic X Hawklawn Silver Sixpence litter.
12) Breeze (Shannonlee Fire And Ice) was imported as a puppy in May 1993 by Jill Taylor.
13) Rafferty (Shannonlee Night Hawk Of Glen O'Shea) was imported along with Breeze.He was eleven months old at the time.
14) Forex shown by owner Diane. This is his first Rare Breeds B.I.S. at eight months old.
15) Starting a C.K.C. Breed Club. Kim Spelmer, Gail and Leslie Harrison, Pat and Albrecht Ua Siaghail, Doreen Steinacker and daughter Lynda Laksmanis met at Ua Siaghails' for that first meeting.     
16) Lynda and Ed Laksmanis with their Tanner and Ua Siaghails' Bran and Aine (Bobby's Girl) at a Misc. class in conjunction with the K.W Kennel Club in the mid 90's.
17) Another Misc. class at a show. Judge was the late Bob Cole. B.O.B. IR&WS on the right bred/shown by Gail Harrison was Caniscaeli Half A Sixpence (Titch).
